🎅 Bill Murray Day on AMC’s Best Christmas Ever Marathon

The holiday season is officially here, and AMC has brought back the Best Christmas Ever event, running November 29 through December 26. With over 600 hours of festive programming, AMC is the place to binge modern classics, timeless favorites, and family-friendly films all season long. From Elf and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation to The Polar Express and the beloved Rankin/Bass stop-motion specials, there’s truly something for everyone.

One of the highlights I’ve been waiting for all year? Bill Murray Day on Saturday, November 29. It’s a full-on celebration of Murray’s unique brand of comedy, charm, and holiday spirit. Here’s how I plan to tackle the marathon and why each movie matters to me.

🕛 12 PM – Caddyshack (Binge Later)

Classic yes, but honestly, only 2–3 jokes really land for me now. The humor has aged weirdly, but I can’t ignore how much it shaped comedy in its day. Tonally, it was a trailblazer, even if it doesn’t hit as hard as it used to.

🕑 2 PM – Groundhog Day (Binge Now)

Hopeful, inventive, philosophical. This movie is a triumph in acting and filmmaking. Every time I watch it, I find something new — Murray is perfect, and the time-loop concept never gets old. This one’s a must-binge for me.

🕟 4:30 PM – Ghostbusters (1984) (Binge Now)

It broke the mold for paranormal sci-fi action-comedy movies. The blend of practical effects, humor, and adventure still works like magic. This one’s a classic I always revisit — I wouldn’t skip it for anything.

🕖 7 PM – Ghostbusters II (Binge Now)

My favorite Ghostbusters movie. Extremely hopeful, holiday-themed, and relatable. It’s heartwarming, fun, and one I can always come back to. Murray is at the top of his game here, and I love it every time.

🕤 9:30 PM – Scrooged (Binge Now – More than Once)

Possibly my favorite Christmas movie of all time. I watch it every year. It makes me think of my parents, the pursuit of dreams, work-life balance, and relationships. It’s funny, smart, chaotic, and somehow comforting.

PSA from me, Johnny Spoiler: Never stay out in the cold — ask for help, it’s waiting for you. There’s always a second chance. This one’s worth more than one viewing for me this holiday season.
