Never underestimate a baboon.

This episode begins innocently enough with Halloween costumes, anticipated movies and seasonal conversation.

Then Shakma enters the building.

Released in 1990, Shakma belongs to that wonderful category of horror movie where hearing the premise immediately makes you ask:

"Wait... somebody actually made this?"

Yes.

They did.

A laboratory baboon goes violently berserk while people are trapped inside a building.

That's the movie.

And sometimes that's all you need.

There's something beautiful about horror's willingness to turn virtually anything into a threat. Sharks. Dogs. Rats. Birds. Slugs.

And now:

Baboon.

This is precisely why we keep digging through forgotten horror movies. Eventually you find something like Shakma, and suddenly whatever respectable movie you planned to watch doesn't seem nearly as interesting.
