Welcome to Night 8 of 9 Nights of Spoilaween, where we're staying in the cosmic horror section of the video store for Saturn 3.

The 1980 sci-fi thriller gives us Farrah Fawcett, Kirk Douglas, Harvey Keitel, an isolated research station and a robot that proves artificial intelligence was causing relationship problems long before anybody had ChatGPT.

At its center is Hector, a robot who develops some extremely unhealthy ideas about human relationships.

Things deteriorate from there.

Quickly.

Saturn 3 sits in that wonderful post-Alien era when filmmakers were throwing horror, science fiction, sexuality and killer technology into a blender to see what came out.

The answer here is:

A deeply uncomfortable robot.

Night 8 takes Halloween away from haunted houses and graveyards and asks an important question:

What happens when the monster follows us into space?
