Welcome back to Binge-Watchers Podcast with Johnny Spoiler! Weird Movie Month continues with THE INCOMER (2026), a bizarre, hilarious, surprisingly heartfelt Scottish fantasy comedy starring Domhnall Gleeson, Gayle Rankin, Grant O'Rourke, and John Hannah.

🎬 THE INCOMER (2026): MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF THE YEAR?
Directed by Louis Paxton, The Incomer follows Isla and Sandy, two eccentric siblings who have spent 30 years isolated on a remote Scottish island, surviving on seagulls, oysters, and their father's most important rule: NEVER ALLOW AN INCOMER.
Enter Daniel (Domhnall Gleeson), an awkward government official sent to relocate them. Unfortunately, he's completely unprepared for what awaits him.
We're talking about Gayle Rankin's wonderfully unhinged performance, John Hannah as a mysterious mythical seal-man, an iPhone that supposedly steals souls, a vegan surrounded by seagull-eating islanders, and the strangest retelling of The Lord of the Rings you'll ever hear.
And then there's Sandy discovering bananas for the first time: "My mouth is alive!"
Beneath the absurdity, this movie has tremendous heart. The editing is sharp, the comedy is perfectly timed, and an unexpected rescue at sea delivers one of its most touching moments.
I don't give out many BINGE NOW ratings, but The Incomer earns one. It's the best movie I've seen so far in 2026.
